We are an independent, family run opticians in Knaresborough. We were set up by husband and wife, Garrey and Karen Haase who still work within the business 10 years later, along with their son Daniel.
We pride ourselves in being an optician for the whole family, taking our patients from their first sight test all the way through to adulthood and beyond.
One thing we offer that sets us apart from other opticians is our Myopia management scheme. Garrey, our optometrist has recently completed a course which makes him a specialist in myopia management (short sightedness), and we offer lenses and treatment that slows the progression down, as well as measuring axial length on every visit. Axial length monitoring is the preferred method to assess stabilisation or progression of myopia.
One other thing that may surprise customers about our business is that Karen, our owner, actually published a book last year, which she co-wrote with one of our patients, Julie. The book is called ‘Over The Fence’ and is sold worldwide! We love being in Knaresborough because the people are so lovely! We really get to know our patients, and it’s so nice that they pop in for a chat and a hot drink even when they don’t have an appointment!
