One thing we hear from locals and residents is that many businesses are closed on Sundays when they are looking for somewhere to eat, drink and shop. Every business is different, opens on different days and has different demand for what they offer.
It’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation BUT we decided to start to kick-start making Sundays a more positive day for the town by asking if more wanted to trial opening on this day of the week during this August (2025). We are calling this A Knaresborough Month of Sundays.
Posters have been dropped off for those wanting to take part (including those that already open on Sundays) so it will be obvious who will be open so locals and visitors can plan their visits. If you’re heading for one place in particular, please check their social accounts to see what time they are opening as some may be open from 10/11am.
If you want more businesses open regularly every Sunday, go visit and spend with them! If this trial works well, it will be extended and hopefully become a long-term trend.
