BLACK MULBERRY

Following a travelling career as crew for Emirates Airline Alex first visited Knaresborough in 2011 & the cafe (Rascals back then) and became obsessed with buying it. It took 2 years to get the plan together & eventually bought the building in 2014.

Opened in 2015 Black Mulberry has become a great food venue in an iconic location. Popular with both locals and regular visitors to the town, the cafe offers a modern menu using quality, local suppliers.

The team work hard to create a friendly and vibrant space and if you’re really lucky Supervisor Dot may even serenade you with a song or two (the entertainment is of course free).

We love cyclists & have a dedicated menu for those who love 2 wheels & a bit of lycra. We’re the place for a post Parkrun social each Saturday morning and we adore a dog companion – we even have doggy sausages on the menu.

Knaresborough is such a special place, it’s the quirky neighbour to the very corporate Harrogate. And as an office view goes….down by the river is amazing every day of the year!
